Default What "skinny" tires are you guys using?

I got some 3.5" drag lites for my car, but the tires that are on there are too tall. They are 28x7.5x15. My friend has a pair or cheapo Futura 165R15s that he wants to sell to me, but he said they are only like 24" tall. My car is lowered a bit and I think that would be too short for ground clearance.

What brand of tire and size are all you guys with skinnys using?

are you going to drive them alot?

If so

Kuhmo 165/80/15 you can get them for $30ea new & I think they are 25.x tall

If not

et front runners you can get them in just about any size.

I had 26" ones on mine in the attached picture.

Hope this helps

Thanks man. I will not do a lot of street driving with them, mostly track and cruise night type of stuff, but they will be on the street some.

I have a guy that wants to trade my Sportsmans for a pair of 26x7.5x15's, but I'm not sure I want to use them on the street. I may check out those Kumhos.

How does the weight compare with the Kumho tires?

You want to go with a tire that is designed for a 3 1/2" wheel... I have been doing alot of research on this myself, as I am about to get some front runners myself...

The 165/R15's are actually made for a 5" or so wheel... and they actually press to hard on the 3.5" wheel and could cause excess straa on the wheel causing it to fail...

Your best bet, is to order a set of either Mickey Thompson E/T Fronts or Moroso DS2's in a 26x4.5x15... A little more expensive, but it will weigh less, be safer, and get you down the track quicker...

MT sportman fronts on my 15x4 Bogarts. A little pricey, but they are rated for the weight of our cars and don't cause a light in the gauge cluster to turn on (ABS inop?).

I had the 165R15 Kuhmos on 3.5" Prostars. No problems, and damn cheap.
