Default Help me decide...Torq-Thrust II vs Smoothie II showdown

I can't make up my mind, but i'm leaning toward the SII to be different...

Boyd Coddington Smoothie II

American Racing Torq-Thrust II

A few similar pics to compare:

18" Smoothie II

17" Torq-Thrust II

18" Smoothie II

17" Torq-Thrust II

Those are the best pics I have to compare two cars at the same angle with both wheels. I would be getting 17's though, and they would be going on a black TA. The SII's pictured were 18s.

To me the smoothies are better looking buut I can guess they cost more than the Torq's. I have a set of Boyds on my Blazer X they are beautiful but I'll tell you I would most likely never buy wheels from them again. They cost me a fortune and when they got to me the first time they were smashed, 4K on wheels and they put them in a carboard box with NO padding and sent them cross country via UPS. And when they got them back to be repaired it took forever AND they were going to send them back regular ground (I had to pay shipping to upgrade them to 2nd day air) all in all it took 3 months to get them when it was "supposed" to take 6 weeks.

Moral of the story I'd prolly get the Torq's

Default torq thrust

i think that the torque thrust's have a more muscle car looking appeal, and the smoothies have more of a show car, pretty look. i think the torq thrusts look better and hell of a lot cheaper

TT2's. The center cap on the smoothie throws me off. That with the lugnuts really sticks out to me. On the tt2s though, it seems more smooth and uniform. They may be played out, but for good reason.

I like the smoothie IIs, but honestly if you want to be different I'd ignore both options. Just my $0.02; get whats gonna make you happy, no one else

Boyd lists $415.69 per 17x10 wheel, so i'm gonna look around to see if any sponsors can't get me a better deal...

It puts them at about 1.5-2x the price of a set of TT2's I think but I should know for sure this week.

I would get 18" chrome TT2. They have a custom shop so yes you can get them. They are still 2 piece wheel so it is a Polished barrel with a chrome center. That would be different if you like the look of the TT2s

I had the TT2s on my car for about 2 months...even though the 315s look kickass in the rear, you'll wish you went with the 18s soon, so I did

I've got alot more pics of each on my site if you want, but these are the closest of the same angle I could find

And for the record, I don't know what everyone is talking about, but the Smoothies are a helluva lot easier to polish than the TT2s...good luck

Fronts are 18x8 and rears are 18x10...I am buying a 1/2" spacer for the fronts tomorrow from Thunder Racing. I would've bought 18x9 for the front if I bought them new...but they were used from a member

They don't make a 9"...it goes from 8 to 10...don't ask me why

Unless you know something I don't? If so, please tell, as i'd rather go 9 or 9.5.

And damn, after seeing your car directly comparing the two (btw thanks, that's perfect) I gotta have an 11" wheel. Those 18x10s simply don't stick out enough or have enough lip to them.

Sorry but if I had to choose between the two (for the overall look and stance) I would go with your TT2 setup...
