Default What tires are best

Ok, well I have a 2001 SS Camaro (275/40zr17 Dunlap Sp Sport 9000s are on it right now and very very worn down, minimum tread) and I was just wondering you guys thought to be the best kind of tires for my car (other than the Eagle F1 Supercar tires)?? Any advice appreciated ..

Thanks,
Caleb

I've had good luck out of my 275/40 Fuzions on my car, or until 1 of them got a cut in it. They hook halfway decent and are pretty cheap. $119 @ Tirerack -->

Best is insanely vauge when talking about tires.
What do you want out of your tires and what is your budget?

Will you see rain/snow?
Life span an issue?
Price?

We need to know what you want for your car to help.

Well, I live in Northern Alabama, so Dry & Rainy...Most of the time. As for a budget, low, i'm 16. My friend has kumho's on his 83 Lt1conversion Camaro and they seem to work pretty good, but, there is an issue of going from my Dunlaps (being a softer rubber than that) me loosing acceleration because of them being softer rubber...? Whats you guys opinion on what I should do?

I just got some Falken Ziex ZE512 (275/40ZR17). They are an all season tire. They handle nicely in the rain and hook pretty decenly in dry. Best part, only $110 a tire from DTD.

Cannot go wrong with the Goodyear F1 GS D3. But it will cost you.

I had Kumho 712s on my car when I bought it. Had about 3/32s of tread on them. After 2 months of driving, I was showing bands on 3 tires. Those tires were SO soft.

I love my BFG KDWs tho. Being in the South I know how those storms can pop up outta nowhere. Ive yet to have a problem with wet or dry weather traction with them. To me, these tires are great. They can be a lil pricey, but I wont put crap tires on anything just to save a buck.
