If your on the stock rear in an M6, it might be ok if your clutch blows up first (assuming it's stock). I would strongly recommend changing the rear and clutch before doing any type of hard launch. And they will not last long at all on the streets. If I had to guess, I would say 500 or so miles assuming they see regular drag use. Drag radials would probably be a better choice but you would still have to be easy with the launches if they hook up well.

What should I do for the rear? i have a hook up on 4.10s and install, around 220.00.

What others meant by "doing the rear first" is upgrading to a 12 bolt or 9 inch rearend. The stock 10 bolt is too small/weak for an ls1 drivetrain, regardless of what gears are in it. You're looking at closer to $2k.....not $200! Sure that's not what you wanted to hear.

Yea, it's not cheap. If you were an automatic you would be able to get away with it but with the m6 it would save you a headache if you wait until you can get a 12 bolt or 9 inch. Unfortunately GM likes to save money on rears that can't withstand the HP these cars make.

Well you should be able to hit it hard off the line unless your on an ET street or something. On normal street radials, the tires would break loose before your rear breaks. Just make sure you're not getting too much traction and you should be fine as long as your not making big power (cam, nitrous, forced induction, etc...)
