Another question. What would be a grippier tire for every day driving(a.k.a. w/out a prerun burnout) 555's sized 255/45/17" with a contact patch of 10.08", or 555R's 245/45/17" which has a contact patch of 9.69".

And how much stickier are 555's verses BFG KWDS's.

you want to get the 555r's and not the 555's you mentioned. Even thought the 555r tire you listed is a little smaller, the stickiness makes up for it more than enough.. The 555's are a harder tire and way easier to spin...
as for 555's vs the bfg's i would say they are about the same(both you listed are street tires)

now if you want to compair the 555r's to the bfg dr's then the bfg's are said to be stickier
