Default rims for drag and rims for street

i was lookin at buyin another set of zr1s for the track 17x11s and was wondering if people here have encounterd problems w/ using spacers or if im bein stupid thinkin about doing this....dont wanna smash in my wells so if i get a spacer to fit the 17x11s and let it stick out a little that way i can put wider tires on, would this be alright for the track or would i potentially break something else...like a fender if the car pulls down hard?...my other plan was to just buy another set of the stock zr1s (17x9.5) and just put same size tires but radials instead? from what you guys have experienced what would be better? like i said i dont want to have to use the bfh

It would be nice if they made 15" x 9" ZR1 wheels so i would only have to buy 2 wheels for the track and they would match the fronts, and i could drive them on the street too. But no, with all this technology they couldent do that, could they. Trying to fit drag wheels without spending a fortune on these cars is just stupid.
