Stock backspacing?

Typically around 6.25 to 6.75 depending on the year as well as the width. 5.5 was never offered on a 4th gen...not even an 8 inch wheel.
This should give you an idea when you take a typical stock wheel at a min of 6.25 inches and substitute it with a wheel that has a 5.5 backspace...it's like taking your stock wheel and moving it 3/4" OUT towards the fender lip.

Yup. Just to note for others, earlier year 4th gens (LT1) were 6.25. This is the correct backspace that puts the wheel centered in the wheel-well area. This is why the typical 8 inch drag wheels for example (not ours) using a small backspace of 5.5 (largest that the others companies run) really do not center the wheel correctly.
For the record, the folks running these wheels, if your an LS1, then if you want to see how a wheel with 5.5" backspace looks on your car, take your STOCK 16x8 wheel and move it 1.25 inches OUT...a huge difference putting the wheel too far from being anything close to centered in the wheel-well.
