Default How to fit pro stars without grinding?

I want to get some pro stars for my SS but don't want to grind. I have heard that you can put LT1 brakes on the rear and spacers in the front and no grinding is needed. Can someone tell me exactly what I will need. i.e. brakes, spacers, wheel size and bs...

Thanks, Sean

Are the LS1 rear brakes better than LT1? Would you be loosing any braking ability?

I'm in the same boat. I'm ordering 15x10 ProStars with 7.5" of backspacing next weekend. I don't have the tools to grind calipers. Is there any way to make these fit without grinding? Or is an LT1 brake swap the only way? And if I did the LT1 brake swap, what all would be needed? Just the calipers/brackets for the rear?

some have also replaced the brake lines too, but you should be able to manipulate the LS1 lines to fit the calipers

Hmm it sounds like it would be easier just to grind if you have to start messing with the brake lines

What kind of tool is used to grind the calipers, and is it very hard to do? I did a tranny swap but I'm nervous about grinding metal, go figure

i dont mind grinding the rears if need be but i refuse to grind my fronts. i just painted them and im not doing that again if i dont have too. i didnt paint the rears yet. but beings the only people who make a 10" rim to fit my car without spacers/ grinding is bogart and i use these rims 2-3 times a year than its looking like pro stars.

Just buy 15x8" with a 5.5 b.s. and just grind it would be a lot easier. With the fronts just use a 5/16 spacer and bolt them on.

If I wanted to minimize grinding at the rear, what kind of spacer could I use for my rear wheels? 15x10 7.5" backspacing ProStars

Also I saw this item linked on another thread. Would it last long enough to grind the two calipers? I wouldn't mind if I tossed it in the garbage once I was done, since I don't really need a grinder for anything else

Which grinding wheels did you use? I see they have one for metal, will that work on our calipers?

Any suggestions for a rear spacer though?
