Default 315 should use a 12 inch wheel

315 should use a 12 inch wheel. I've been talking with a few wheel places and they all say that if I want to run a 315 I need a 12inch wheel. ?

Totally not necessary . . . 315's fit on 11" wheels per manufacture recommendations . . .

Per Good Year a 315/35ZR17 fits on a wheel 10.5 to 12.5" in width and the "ideal" size is 11".

Use the "specs" at tirerack as a guide.

You called Fiske and THEY recommend a more expensive wheel. Think about it

I run 17x10's with Sumitomo 315's. Use Tire Rack for a guide or call the tire manufacturer for specs. Most tires recommend 10"-12"

Good luck

For some REALLY strange reason FIKSE, has way stricter wheel and tire recommendations . . . I can only assume it is race car driven . . .

For example they REFUSED to build a 9" wheel with a 275 tire mounted on it . . .

Next time I'm buying my wheels from one source and tire from another . . .

I put the 315 Sumitomos on 11" TTIIs. They look like they fit easily. Actually, the tire doesn't bulge over the lip of the rim like the fronts do. I am thinking maybe I could go wider if I wanted to. It just doesn't look the same as the 245s on the front on 9.5" wheels.

a 315 Nitto DR would look stupid on a 12" rim.

11" is ideal for 315 size tire based on everything that I have read about tires.

with 12" u'd want to step up higher than 315 if you ask me.

Im running 315s just fine on an 11 inch wheel. Like WADDISME said, the wheel lip sticks out further than the tire, just asking for some curbing. It would be even worse with a 12". If you wanted 345's, well then you shoudl look into the 12".

ok well it looks like I'm about to make a deal on some wheels- 18x9.5's and 18x10.5 Fikse's. Will the front work? They come with 265x35x18 and 295x35x18 tires on them. I dont like the tires so what would be best? I have 275x17 on the front now. Will a 275x35x18 fit the front end? what about a 285? Also would a 305 be better than a 315 on the 10.5? Car is not lowered. Has SLP pro rate springs and Koni's on standard perch.

275/35/18 is just about perfect on an 18x9.5" wheel...

295 is about as big as you can get comfortably onto the rears due to the lack of very many 305 tires available in 18" sizes.

You might could squeeze a 315 onto the 10.5" but it will be tight and vary by tire.

nittos run small from what I hear... so if thats what you are wanting to run, you'd probably be able to get 315s on the rear.
