Hoosier vs. MT

Hoosier vs. MT
I need a drag radial.... one that just straight hooks up. I was sold on the MT ET Street Radials.... but now i see that Hoosier has a Drag Radial also.. the tire size is going to be 275/40R17 and they are about the same price. so the question is which one do i get? All I am really looking for is straight out grip. Thanks!

i cut some 1.55 60 fts last weekend on the hoosier 275/40/17's
i had the mickeys before and they were just as sticky..
the big difference i thought was that the hoosiers were 8 lbs lighter per tire
mickeys wght...29 lbs
hoosiers...21 lbs

Wow, what a difference in weight! Rotational mass does make a difference. If I know for sure that one will be just as sticky as the other I'd rather buy the lighter weight tire. Then again, it may wear quicker due to less rubber.

looks like a qtp with a radial inside to me.
anybody have tread life on the hoosiers?
my MT radials have about 1000-1200 miles of HARD use.
do a lot of racing from a stop on the street, and ive got prolly 10 track passes on them. i only drive them on the weekends, and at the wear marks already.
im game for another set tho.
dont hook as good as the sportman pros ive come friends with, but the car drives a lil better than a bias ply.
