Default gap question

hey guys. i have 17 x 8.5 w/ 255 40r 17 tires. i lowered the car about 1.5 inches, but i still don't like that gap. would 255 45 17's or 255 50 17's look bad? i still want the low profile look, but i want some of that gap gone....

the pic is deceiving, but in real life, it's still too high for my taste.

Well #1 your tires are too small in diameter. A 245/45ZR17 is the right diameter. Could step up to a 255/45ZR17, but the OD will be a little larger than stock.

I personally thing the ride height is fine.

i like the wider tire, w/the 255's, but you think i should go with 45 instead of a 40?

man, just get a 275/40-17 all the way around and be done with it (assuming the wheel width is at least 9.0")

same size that's on the stock SS, so with the drop, it should fill out the gap nicely....and you'll get the extra width over the 255's that are on it now

my rim size is 17 x 8.5, so that would not fit my rim. i have the widest you can go. i figured the next time i buy tires, i'll move up to 45 or 50 instead.
