Mini Review of Nitto 555R
We'll I was cautious when buying a drag radial. I'm on a limited budget and I drive my car ALOT, minimum of 30-50 miles a day usually.
Well got them mounted, they look great on the C6 rims...real meaty. Didnt really test them out till later that night. When I got my car tuned they also adjusted the trans and it shifts very crisp and hard between the 1-2 shift that would break the tires loose and sometimes slide the back end out on street tires. With the Nittos NOT heated up it just makes a loud bark but does not spin it feels like it carries speed MUCH better and Ive noticed a difference on slow mph roll races while in first gear (IE: 20mph) My car really seems to do better at the 1-2 shift with no spinning.
TONIGHT I had my first 2 races from a dig on some country backroads with the radials on...the first race I heated them up for probably 10-12 seconds got them nice and hot. I stalled it up to about 1300 and didnt leave very hard just to be cautious but sure enough they stuck and didnt even bark going into second just dead hooked when they were heated up.
The second race I did a much smaller burnout ( 5 seconds) and this time I launched it hard. Much harder, they responded with no spinning but all bite.
All I can say is I LOVE these radials even on the bottle in first gear they still hook. Spraying a 150 wet shot with no progressive controller and the tires are taking the abuse. Rain driving isnt bad at all. I HIGHLY reccomend them to anybody who Daily Drives there LS1 alot.

275/40/17 size..on 2006 C6 Vette rims. I have bolt-on's and a 150 wet shot and it takes all the abuse of the nitrous without a progressive controller and still bites. Love them,

Thanks for the info, those were one of the tires on my list that I was wondering about as far as handling the Hp I have. If they are holding a 150 shot of nitrous I think they should do well with my N/A car. 473/431 @ the wheel.

I just looked into getting some of these size 275/40/ZR 17 and the guy at discount tire says they are not making them any more. I was like WTF, I am sure he is mistaken but......shouldn't he know. I still see them for sale on line just thought it would be nice to get them local.

Gotta say, you want to hook, M/T ETStreet Drag Radials. Local guys are seeing 1.4x short times after driving them all the time. (Probably not short times QUITE that good on the 17s, but on the 15 rim versions, yep!

They make them but they are on MAJOR back order. Discount Tire here had to steal them from another store from a bordering state Keep that on the DL. Online would be your best bet.
