Are these tires any good? They sure are cheap for a 315/35-17 but they are rated pretty good on the tire rack. Looks like I could get some good mileage out of them, opinions?

I just bought them, and you can't beat the price for them. I didn't want to pay 300+ for a rear tire.

Cheap=yes. Traction=no. I've had two pairs of them and they don't hook. But they're hard to pass up if you're on a budget like me.

I'm definately on a budget, spent $1100.00 on wheels now the old lady is having a fit so I have to get the best tires for the best price. If I went and spent another eight hundred or so on tires I'd be living in my car! Thanks

I guess hard to pass up but these tires don't hook at all and don't last very long. They lasted longer than my BFG drag radial's but they start out with much less tread and aren't built to get mileage out of them. IMO they aren't worth getting unless you plan on being in burnout competitions. Oh, and they look ugly and they have a skinnier contact path than my 275's up front.

I didn't know that, I guess the Nitto's would be about the best tire for the money then. My car doesn't hook for **** now, I've got the Dayton Daytona ZR's in 245/50-16's all the way around. They handle great and do good in the rain but suck as far as hooking up in a straight line. I'm more of a corner carving type too so handling is a big concern. Thanks

I have em on my car with 17x9.5 (front - 275/40) and 17x11 (rear - 315/35) and have had no problems with curbing or anything. They are not as wide as say the Goodyear GS-D3 tires but for the money, you CANNOT beat them. No traction at the track, but I bought them for the street. Had them on for over 2 years now and still going strong.

had a set. by far the most horrible tire ive owned. skinny. the 315 looks more like a 275 no traction at all even at highway speeds. handled weird also. exchanged them and paid the diff on some 315 bfg kds best tire for the cash.

I have a set on my car now... I bought them at the beginning of last summer. I don't beat on my car or drive it in the winter from the first snow to the last here in ct. They are at about 3/32" tread depth. Overall they were cheap, but you get what you pay for. They don't hook at all. I won't be getting another set.

I always find it funny when guys are like "these don't hook" - No ****, man. They're street tires that are designed with mileage in mind. If you want hook, get drag radials. Otherwise, don't complain about traction.

That being said, Sumitomo HTRZ and HTRZ II are very good tires, very hard to beat for the money.

Just a little side note...These tires have the same tirewear number as drag radials (100).

You keep spewing your bullshit tirewear numbers - I'll give you some real life results.

MT ET Street Radials lasted me 8,000 miles, and I babied the **** out of them. The cords were showing when removed.

Sumitomo HTRZ's have lasted me 25K miles and counting, they've still got easily 50% tread left.

Yes, the drag radials hook. No, the street tires dont. Surprise!

I've got the Sumitomo HTR Z's and they are OK, not the worst, but my no means are they the greatest. If I had to to it all over again, I'd get a better set of tires.

EDIT: Oh, and the treadwear number on these tires is 160 and I have 275/40 ZR17's all around.
