why do my wheel studs keep breaking???

Thumbs down why do my wheel studs keep breaking???

it seems like every time i take a wheel off. 1-2 studs break off. i just took off my 2 front wheels. and 2 broke on one side, and another broke on the other

Don't tighten them too much. You may be stretching the bolts too much weakening them as an end result.

that is probably it , i dont have a torque wrench so i just kind of guess.

yeah thats not good, itd be a good idea to find one, torque specs are 100ft/lbs,

You Can Usually Get A Craftsman On Sale For Around $60-$70. Mine Is My Most Used Wrench I Have.

Yea, your over tightening them, you really need to torque them properly? Also are these stock studs that are breaking?

one of mine just broke off dammit, and yeah it was from tightening too much

they are stock sized studs. i've had to replace them quite a few times before using autozone/oreileys studs etc.

You might as well get some ARP studs since you seem to take the wheels off quite often. I just changed mine and it was rather simple to do. Yes I did pull my axels.
