I just got some Kumho ASX's and I had them in a really heavy rainstorm the other day here in Central Alabama and they are great. They have twin "rain grooves" in them very similar to the original aquatread design. I would definantly recomend them.

I have BFG KDW2s all around and they're not too bad. Not the greatest traction, but they're 275/35-18, so it'd probably be significantly better with more sidewall on a 16" wheel.

BFG KDW are nice. I have also had good luck with Sumi's as well.

I thought my Kumho 712s were great in the rain. I put a set of BFG KDWS on last week and they're pretty good also.

Try a sumitomo HTRz 255/50-16, great tire for the money, have put 4000mi on the so far, great in rain, stick on dry pavement. 30psi on the street, 18psi is the magic number for the drive tires at the track.
