Default Anyone use Falken Ziex Ze-512 245/50/zr/16??

I got two new ones at Discount Tire for $239 drive out. I will get the other two next pay check.

Has anyone use these tires? If so how do they hold up on the street and drag strip?

I ran 13.2@106 with bald tires last time with a 2.1 60 ft time

maybe I can do better with these new tires

Ive had these on the back of my Camaro since July. Mine are 245/40/18's though. Compared to my Cooper Zeon's that were on before, the handling on the Falkens was sloppy, felt less planted than the coopers. Other than that they have been good. The traction was alright, they don't wheelhop as much as my old tires did so that was nice.

The treadwear is better than the coopers i had 280 vs 360. So i thought they would last a while, but I was pretty hard on them so they only lasted about 3,000 miles. They are bald now... They throw a lot of rubber on the bumper once you get them spinning.

You can see the traction issues i had in this video though, i was just trying to launch, but they kept spinning.

Yup,
I have a set of 4 on my car right now in that size. I think they are ok for how cheap they are...but you payed $239 for only two of them??? I got them from the same place (discount tire or tires.com ) a year ago for $74 per tire with free shipping so that seems like you payed to much or something.

EDIT: I have put 17k miles on mine and they need to be replaced already...

I have 4 255/50 16s on 16x8 SS/ZR1 style wheels. They are ok for the price, (street driving, never had them to the track, can't imagine they would be any good there). When these wear out, I think I'm going to try the Avon M550s.

My buddy runs the 275/40/17s on his 4000 Stall Trans Am, he cut 4 consistent 1.60 - 60' the same day at the track. For some reason, if you learn the right way to launch them they work pretty damn good. I was skeptical but they've treated him well.

Like i said I have the new tires on the back, and I still have the bald set on the front.

When I change lanes or do a fast sudden side to side movement, thats when the car feels sloppy, Could that be from haveing good tires on the back and old crapy tires on the front, or is this the way the new tires will be all the time?

As soon as i pulled my car out of the shop after getting these tires on the back it felt sloppy. I would jerk the wheel side to side and the rear end just kinda whipped around. On my old tires they would be planted and follow it when i jerked the wheel. I got used to it after a while though...

Im putting 17s on over the winter most likley, so i will have to get used to it all over again.

I have the Ziex ZE 512's on my car and they are OK ... not the best tires if you want handling. The Falken Azenis line is great tho.
