Default Help Me w/Wheels For My SOM WS6 Vert!!

I think I'm ready to change out my wheels. What do you guys suggest I do? I'd love to do the Fikse FM/5 but don't really like the price tag.

I know I need to drop it as well - I plan on Eiback Pro-Kit.

Get CCW's for a car that beautiful. Dont be cheap. Also the eibach kit is ok in the front but they are little high in the back for me and they are weak springs also so you will bottom out with any weight at all. ccwheel.com. They could be had for 3600 or so. There is a set on ebay that the guy ran 3 times. He is asking too much for a used set. You might be able to negotiate a good deal. I have 505a's on a nbm hawk and 500's on a red Zo6. I like the LG springs better too.

Truth be told, I did have your same car in an auto( I think you emailed me once) and I would not modify that car in any way at all. It is top of all ws6's in my mind. It doesnt need anything.

Springs are a pretty minior mod and wheels can always be changed, mod the thing how you want these cars arent going to be that much of a gem in years to come.

I've flirted with the idea of putting black wheels on my SOM WS6 but i'd like to see some pics of some SOM cars with that combo before I pulled the trigger.

I would do DMS springs. All Pro Kits I have seen tend to sag in the ***. MAC, or BMR springs are nice springs as well.
Chrome Firehawk wheels would look great.

on a car of that calibre, I'd go with expensive wheels like iforged or HRE. That car represents the best of the best when it comes to Trans Ams, and will surely be a collectible.

I think FM5's are the best looking wheel on an SOM. Of course that is what I ran on my 01 SOM WS6 so I'm a little jaded

As far as modding the car, GO FOR IT. I wouldn't do anything unreversable like drilling holes for a roll bar or anything but keep your stock parts and mod the hell out of it. The car will not be a collectors item for some time and who knows what the future holds you might as well enjoy your car now how you want it.

DUDE!!i wouldn't just through this out for everyone, but thats one hell of a car that needs some high dollar wheels....

i know a guy one a local forum selling his HRE wheels...he gave 5K for them new and he is now selling them for 1500...

heres a quote from his post...

"I have my old HRE's for sale. One was cracked and has been repaired. The wheels are in good shape but are not perfect. Some paint chipping on the centers around the lug nut holes (universal black touch up paint works wonders) and a small amount of curb rash on one of the rears.
Sizes are 18x9 and 19x10.5. Wheels only no lugs or tires. These wheels originally sell for around 5K. First 1500.00 bucks takes them out of my garage and out of my way."

pics...
