Default Should i go DR?

Went to E-town last night. my best time was a 14.3 . Now why would i do that? because it's pointless on street tires. I want to get DR's but i don't know too much about the rear end and how it will take it. If i do get them they will only be used for track day and maybe the day before to practice launching. In the meantime a friend of mine has a 00 SS with h/c at 468whp. DR's on the stock rear. when i think about this i ask myself why not? if he didn't break anything at that rate then what could happen in my case? anyway. Let me know if i should or i shouldn't...

I'd definitly do it man. I've had nitto drs for about 25k (on my 2nd set after 22k) I'm pushing 425 to the rear wheels and have about 100k on my stock rear end. I hear all these horror stories but my honest opinion is that as long as you stay away from slicks dead hooking you'll be fine. Because DR's are still easy to light up but hook significantly better than street tires.

Yeah I would get them. You really don't need to worry about the rear since your not pushing a ton of HP

You only run into problems with stockish power on an M6 and the rear is if the gears are switched from 3.42's to something else. You'll notice a majority, if not all the people who grenade their rear on power in the 300's are those who have aftermarket gears. I know of a 30th TA that went mid 11's with 500+ to the wheels on the stock rear with 6k dumps with no problem at all, as soon as he went 4.10's, boom.
