Installed 315's this weekend
17X11 ZR1's with 315 BFG KD's, with Hotchkis springs and Hotchkis single adj PHR.
What i did:
- Had the fender lips rolled by a local shop
- Banged the inner fender wells (not much was needed)
- Cut the bump stops off completely
Results:
- I think i may need to have the fenders rolled up some MORE. I honestly have no clue how any of yall have been able to get away with not rolling the fenders at all. Mine are rolled a pretty good bit, and i saw "rub marks" on both of the outter side walls. It was much, but i did see it. I live in a apt complex with a parking garage (and the angles of the upramps from level to level are pretty steep, which puts unusual loads on one side or the other when turning from the steep angle to the flat level), so im not sure if that is it, or if its from the rear end squatting from a 1st gear punch or what.
- I thought this was going to be a bigger issue than it was, the passenger side needed about 2 square inches banged in from rubbing, i think i could have eliminated any inner well hammering if i messed with the PHR.
- I dont know if the bump stops needed to be removed altogether or if i could have gotten away with just a little trim. I didnt feel like measuring or guessing, so i just took them off completely.
All in all, it was a painless experience. The tire/rim combo looks great, and i dont think the slight rubbing issue will be much of an issue.

My dealer trimmed my bumpstops. The mounting holes are still in place, so if I ever want to put them back in, I could.
I have Yokohama AVS Sports, which are a very wide tire, and I did have some issues with the fender lip rubbing on the passenger side rear, however, that hasn't occurred again since I put my UMI double adjustable rod ended PHB in there.
Can you measure your BFG KD? I am curious if they are wider that the Yokos.

I have been running 315's on 17x11 ZR1s for over three years and never rolled the fenders...I did use the BFH on the inner wheel wells and did major trim work on the bump stops..the only place mine have ever rubbed was on the inside of the wheel wells I just use the BFH till it doesn't rub anymore ....
