Just like the title says. Im trying to figure out the best way to clean the inside of the wheels, becuase past the chrome they look pretty bad. Ive scrubed them down poretty well but they arent clean enough for me. Ive also thought about painting them with a rattle can maybe with chrome or black. Any ideas.. thanks for any advice

My uncle who has been a body man for about 30 years (so this is a reliable source) told me to use mineral spirits or paint thinner to clean them. It won't ruin the chrome or metal finish and it will clean all the gunk like tar and brake dust off. I used a scrubby pad (not sos but a green scrubby) and the mineral spirits and got them really clean. A lot more than with the soap. Try it in a small area first like everything to see what it does.

First off, remove them! It makes the job so much easier. Use a strong cleaner like Eagle One All Wheel and Tire and scrub them with a brush. Follow that with a wash with car wash soap. Once fully cleaned and dried, apply a durable paint sealant (inside and out) to protect them and make subsequent cleaning easier.

Mothers chrome polish and a mother power ball. that takes all the work out, and all you have to do is wipe it off with a rag when your done!

I used simple green and a scotchbrite for that first big cleaning of the insides of the wheels, worked pretty good. Then just finish off with some wax. Now when i wash the car i reach in between the spokes and wipe off the dust in there.
