Default Sumitomo's vs Falken vs Kumho

Okay guys. I need pro-style advice.

I'm ordering new rubber for my 18"x9.5" Z06's. I'm going with 385/35 zr-18's. I need to get back some of my lost clearance with the Koni upgrade.

What's your pick?

Sumitomo, Falken, or Kimho? I'd like a tire that won't kill me on any but the most sunny of days. I have a set of Kumo's now, and I've been fairly happy with them, but I don't want to pass up a better tire if I can avoid it.

Thanks!!

You need MUCH bigger rims for those 385s.

I just ordered some Nitto 555's for my new rims.

Even tho your not looking at them, you cant go wrong with the 555 nittos. Some of the Kumho's tend to generate a bit more road noise than what some like.

I got the falken ziex's for 115 a piece on discounttiredirect, because they were sold out of the cheapest tire they had. I just got them for the front, in the rear I got the nitto 555R DR's

The reason I haven't been thinking Nitto's, is because I DD my car, and I'd like to tire to last longer than a few thousand miles.

**whispers** ..... i have a stock rearend **GASP!!**

The drag radials (555r) last around 8,000 miles (more in dry weather driving). I would not worry about nitto DRs breaking your stock rear on the street at normal pressure (e.g. 26lbs) and temps (i.e. no burnout).

I'm assuming that the regular 555s will be good for around 20k.

I think you'll like them. Just don't try any 5000 rpm clutch dumps with them at 18lbs.

Meh... I was happy with mine. I ran them for about 20K miles, and they were a great all around tire.

haha, same here.
i got them pretty cheap, and they came installed on my tires, so i might as well use them. haven't gotten to yet though, because its winter and im not puttin my car on the salt..

I've had kumhos, didn't like them.
My buddy had Falkens, he fell in love with them immediately
Never had Nitto's, but it sounds like that's my next tire

what's wrong with Sumitomos? I've had mine for almost two years and they have performed really well with my Z06 wheels (17/18).
