Can non DR tires hook?
Well I want to buy some new tires for the spring, trying to stay away from DR because I dont want to have to buy new tires every 8k miles or so, want to get a little more use out of them, and want to have the most traction I can get in the rain, I live in michigan, we get a lot of crappy weather. Are there any tires that are not drag radials, that will still hook relatively well on the street, obviously I wont get the same traction, but the best out of a street tire? Which brands? Which tires? so on, They are 18x8 and 18x10, any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, the bigger the better on the rear!

I think Goodyear eagle F1 GS-D3's will give you ok(average) dry handling with good rain performance. I would say Go BFG KD's, but they suck in the rain. If you're just putting down stock-ish power, the F1's should be fine. If you're north of 400rwhp, you'll have a hard time hooking on ANY street tire.

^^^ No doubt. If you wanna hook with that kinda power, especially since superchargers don't lag. You need a DR. Don't be afraid of all DR's though. Try a Nitto 555R DR. It can last as much as 12k miles. Just don't get stupid in the rain(who races in the rain anyhow?) and you'll be fine. Plus that tire should be able to hook well in the dry.

I have Pirelli PZero Systems out back, 275-40-18. They hook ALRIGHT when aired down a bit to around 22psi. THEY DO NOT HOOK AT ALL WHEN COLD. I come out of my driveway now, and VERY light on the throttle, just trying to get up the street(I live on a small hill) and they spin. Good warm weather tire, terrible cold weather.

Exactly. Cold weather + any DR or summer performance tires is a loss. Don't even think of getting DR's or a summer performance tire if you're driving in snow. Will the car see snow?

The car is covered with soot when i floor it, just didnt get it retuned because i just bought it before the winter, it will never see snow, its my second car, for fun sunny days lol
