speedo recalibration with 18" rims???

Default speedo recalibration with 18" rims???

im thinking of getting some 18" rims to replace my stock 16" rims on my z28, will the speedometer get messed up? what about with 17"?

there is a link somewhere on ls1 tech that calculates the mph difference. 17s should be fine with no adjustment. 18's would be off more, it depends on the sidewall height i believe. I have 18's on my car and I didnt adjust anyhting. The speedo is off 1 or 2 mph max on mine. I think this is the link.

Rim size does not matter. It is all in the OD of the tire.

OD of the tire . . .

FYI, a 245/50ZR16, a 275/40ZR17 and a 275/35ZR18 all have virtually identical OD's so the speedo is fine . . .

unless your going above a 26.5 inch tire or changing gears its not worth it imho
