Damn, I can't get those 315s off my mind on the stock wheels. I have to buy new rear tires and I am seriously considering it. I just don't know how safe it is... Anyone want to reassure me?

I also ran Nitto DRs on my 17" SS wheels.

I am running the MTs now, and wouldn't even try wet weather. I have heard some horror stories of them reacting to water very similar to an ET Street, which was a lot of fun.....not!

I would go with the Nittos. 275/40/17, or if you can squeeze them on, a 315/35, which is not recommended, but can be done
why is it not recommended

I just drove on my Nitto 555r's in the rain today. No problems. Just have to remember they're there and not do anything too crazy. Mine are 315/35/17's, but are on 11 inch wide rims.

Nitto 555r 315/35/17 on CCW 10.5" rims for maybe two years... durability is good, street traction was OK until I went turbo. Occasional use in wet conditions, I just drove it like a baby... no problems. But you don't want to drive any drag radial through standing water at speed.

I need more traction, so I'm putting on some 315 BFG D/R's.

i have both tires. my nittos, 315/35/17's on a 11inch rim are for the street and then i have a set of mickey's, 275/50/15's on a 8.5inch rim for the track. i put the nittos on my stock rims before i had my new rims come in for about a week. they buldged out pretty bad but drove fine. i would reccommend the nittos for daily driving though, alot more life out of them.

The M/T are the best street/strip tire out there i've been through 3 sets of them, but when you get them in the rain they will put you in a ditch.I would not advise them on a DD.I put the Nitto's on my car for the DD and bought the M/T to put on the drag radials.

My nitto's did well in the rain and they even hooked decently.........while the car was stock................Now, I have to rum MT's at the track.............You could run 285/40/17's on the back to keep the tires from looking so small...................just don't have any aspirations of dead hooking if you are making much over stock hp

the nittos worked quite well for me, just broke the rear-end on the street so i guess you could say they hook.

i had the m/t drag radials on before my 555r's. i gunned it once when it was damp and i was in 3 different lanes... the back end slid out doing S's until it finally cought. it was 4am and nobody was around so it was fun.
but the 555r's feel so much better and i feel confident to drive my car anywhere now.

yeah MT's sucks in the rain. They gave me the first scare ive ever had in the rain. Not run when your traveling 50 on a straight away and hit a puddle and the *** end goes side to side.

im going nittos when i get more DR's

let me know what you guys think
Dont get MT ET Streets if you are wanting to drive in rain. end of story.

315's on stock width wheel is stupid.

315's on stock modified wheels is fine. widen your rims as i am if you want 315's.

I DD on MT 315-35-17 DRs. Used to have NITTOs DRs The Nittos did thier job of being round and holding air. Thats about it. The MT were not that much more and as for a DR in this size I wouldnt use another.
