How well would BFG 285/40/17's work on 17x10.5?
I just noticed BF Goodrich makes a g-force kdw in this size and i have 17x10.5's for the back so I was wondering if these would work? I have 315 sumitomos right now for the back and i figured these would be better, also i cant use drag radials.
The site says they have a 26" diameter so they are a little taller than 315s. The section width is 11.4 on a 10" wheel instead of 12.6 on an 11" wheel also.
What do you think, is it safe? thanks

dang! I'm confused about the tread pattern though cuz on the website, all KDW's have a pretty unique tread pattern, but on tire rack they just have the normal v style, and the KDW2 has the unique one but not in the same size. The KDW2 isn't even on the official website

I have 285/ GS-D3s on the 9.5" SS 10-spokes and they are
a bit wide (just short of clown shoes, need some air not to
squirm). These would probably be good on 10.0 or 10.5" rims.
Do not know how they compare to BFG products, I've heard
GS-D3s run wider than most for the same nominal size.

Personally, I would go with a wider tire, 305 or 315.
you don't want to buy those tires and then have them look way too skinny.
These are Kumho 712's in the 285/40/17 size on the rear of my car, 17x9.5 AFS ZR1's.
Kumhos are sometimes just a tad skinnier than other brands, but not by much.
