Default How long did your 315 sumitomos last?

How did you like the tire itself, and how long did they last you? Also, did you beat on them hard or did you baby them? Just curious to know because of how cheap they are.

I think it is safe to say at the price they go for they are "disposable". They came with my ZR-1s. There is nothing really wrong with them. They are round....lol

I've had very good luck with them, they have been holding up fine and still look brand new. I seem to have better luck than others, mine seem to hook up great.

Unless you are just looking for as set of cheap daily drivers, I'd look elsewhere. With mild upgrades, a slush box and a stall, they are damn near dangerous. I have the 315's on the ZR-1 wheels with a couple of 1,000 miles. Tread wear is reasonable, even with a handful of trips to the strip. Once M/T releases their 315 ET street, I will be first in line.

I've heard alot of good and bad things about the Sumitomos. I decided not to go with them, after reading a majority of the threads here. I bought some 315 Nitto drags for my rear Zr1's, since I have been very satisfied with my current Nittos. I don't drive much so I'm not worried about the tread rating on the Nittos. You get what you pay for.

I've had really good luck with them in the past. They are narrow for a 315 but you can't beat the price!

FWIW i've had 4 different sets....

not sure how many miles on em, but when i bought my car about a month ago (only put about 300 miles on it) it had 315, sumitomos tires on the back and at anything over "normal" throttle i might as well forget it...

im running 275 sumitomo's and if its below 60* outside, you better forget about traction. they literally suck ***** in cold weather.

I just got a set because they were cheap and didn't want to daily drive on drag radials. Plus it has been raining alot here in Houston lately and they work great in the rain or at least they do for me. If I need more traction I can slap on the Weld Magnum with M/T drag radials.
