Can you Mismatch Tires?? Help please!!
I am looking to get a set of BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 295/35/18 for the rear. I just bought 18in 10.5 Chrome Z06 for my 98 SS. But they dont make the tires for the 275/40/17 that I want to run for my 17in 9.5 wheels. The next size in 17 is 255. Can you mismatch? If so what is a good tire to go with my rears?? Please let me know. Thanks

You can mismatch front and rear, but I don't like to. Not unless it's for a drag radial setup on the street...
But, if you're on a tight budget, and you have no issues with it than go for it.
Don't run a 255 on a 9.5" wheel... You need to look at some other tire manufacturers and look for a 275mm tire.
My question is, why run different tires? You're not going to save THAT much money by running cheap fronts. What's your price range?
You can get 275/4017s BFG KDW tires for $166 bucks a piece on tire rack.
You have a couple options as far as high performance tires that are cheaper. Yokohama ES100s, and Kumhos come time mind. You can go Kumho ecsta mx, or ecsta supra 712s. But god I hate cheap tires.
IMO, you'll be much happier running BFG KDWs all the way around. They are a very good tire for the $$$.
