Widening stock rims?
All,
Sorry if this has been asked before!
We have a rim place where I live that can widen your rims. Has anybody done this here before? If so were you pleased? Where did you have it done? Did your offset change?
Thanks! I'm a newbie!

This place widens them.
http://www.fixrim.com/
The Dallas location does the work. Cost's about $200 as they use a donor rim. If you have your own donor, it would be cheaper. By using a donor there is only one bead of weld.
This has definetely been talked about and more locations were posted. Try a search for them.

Think of it like this. If you add 2" to the width, get a 1" spacer. If you add 1.5", get a 3/4" spacer. So about half the extra width. You also reach a limit as to how thin a spacer/adapter can get. About the thinnest I've seen was 3/4". They should also be hubcentric. Likw this:
What rims are you widening? Maybe someone has already done this before. I've seen the camaro SS anniversary rims, 98 and 02 OEM 17" WS6 style rims and Firehawk rims widened and have pics if you need them.

Really, the stock 16's look way better with a spacer to push them out some. If you jack up the axle just enough to slip the tire off and then pull the tire out a little, you can see what it would look like.
