Default What bfg drags for firehawk rims

What width are firehawk rims? is it 9 or 9.5? I forgot and am not in town.

I am thinking about bfg drag radials and they dont have the size tire i have now 275/40/17.

What size will fit my rims and work the best for all around driving?

No, 275 is max for a 9" wheel. 285 KDs will be way to big for the 9" wheel.

The BFG DRs will fit perfectly in the 275/40/17 size. Not sure what he is talking about by them not looking "meaty"....

What tires are you running bad ***? Obviously with an almost snapped driveshaft, you are hooking up alright.

I have a set of BFG DRs on my factory wheels. The same 275/40/17s... Good tires, and they hook well on the street.

The driveshaft damage actually happened after I broke my factory torque arm after powershifting 2nd gear. I was on 18" Michelin Pilot Sports at the time. Just goes to show how shitty the factory stamped steel parts are...

Because a 285 needs a 9.5" rim. 265/275 are what you want on a 9" wheel. The 275s will be perfect.

315s need an 11" wheel, no questions about it. It's physically possible to mount them up... But that doesn't mean it's right. Tire failure can occur, and then you're going to be sorry.

The manufacture recommends a minimum width for all their tires. Don't be retarded...

Nobody does. Someone started talking about 285 BFG KDs.
You said you were looking for DRs.

I was just making a point that nothing bigger than a 275 should be mounted on a 9" wheel.

Do yourself a favor and ignore his post all-together.

do you know how hard you would have to push those tires for them to fail, one, I worked for goodyear so i know all about what tire companies recommend and should be done, also the firehawk is running a 743rwhp car and sees lots of hard driviing time with no failure

I not trying to say you wrong, just wondering , how many people do you know that have run into this problem, I would agree that its better to run the suggested tire to rim preference
