Default New street tires

My WS6 tires were dry rotted when I got my car, so I had to replace the front 2 (they were losing air) immediately. The back 2 still need replaced. The stock Eagle F1s corner well, but suck at traction. They break loose under 40 just by thinking of accelerating (forget takeoff).

After weeks of reading stickies, reviews, and speaking with several people I'm leaning toward Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires. I considered Nitto 555rs, but due to the rain we get in my area, the way I drive (I love drifting) and the fact that I drive this car daily and don't want to replace tires every year, I lean toward the Eagles.

The stock 275/40ZR17 Eagle F1s were horrible for traction, and only get 9.7" of tread width to the road. The Eagle F1 GS-D3s are higher rated for tread wear and also get better wet and dry traction.

The F1 GS-D3s come in 275/40ZR17 and 285/40ZR17. The 275 gets 9.4" of tread to the road versus the 285's 9.9". That's a 1/2" difference. The 275 is 25.7" in diameter and the 285 is 26.1" in diameter. According to the calculators, that would throw off my speedo about 1mph all around, but I have HPTuners and will be able to fix that (as soon as I learn to use it).

My question? Would the 285 cause me any clearance issues, and does anyone here personally have experience with the Eagle F1 GS-D3 (These are not the same as the stock F1 GS)?
