Default Tires rubbing

so, as my sig states, 98 z/28 which came with 16" wheels and 245 rubber,

since then, i installed factory ss 10 spokes with 275 rubber, never noticed any rubbing on the wheel well shield. i now have 17x9 sportmax 962's with 275 rubber and i noticed that when te wheels are turned into the well, there's slight rubbing marks on the shield.

so, why is this ? are the suspension setups that much different from a z/28 to an ss ??

its nothing bad but there's minimal clearance there, something i should be worried about ??

thanks

Should be no problem. Your wheels are most likely a different offset then the factory 10-spokes.

Ooops, missed that. Let me revise my statement. You'll be fine, your not gonna have the wheel all the way cranked when youre going fast so i wouldnt worry about it. it does sound like the offset is a bit different.

got any pics?

or you could always just take the sheilds out, but i dont see how that thin plastic could do any damage to your tires.

Sounds to me that the offsets of the Sport Max wheels pushes the wheels a bit further out that OEM wheels, and now the tire rubs. Both my Camaros rub at full turn, it doesn't bother me.
