Default Cheap, light wheels for drag racing?

I'm wanting to pick up a set of wheels to mount some slicks on for when I go to the track. Of course, I'd prefer to get light wheels, in a 15". But size aside, what options are out there for cheap, light wheels? I'm williing to let them be horribly ugly if they perform.

Bogarts are the way to go and they offer some excellent designs and are some of the lightest wheels out there.

Um, bud, you missed the CHEAP part. I mean cheap. Not $350/wheel.

I hear Summit sells a prostar look alike for real cheap.. only downfall is it weighs slightly more but still light enough for what you are looking for.

I asked about the summit rims when they came out a few months back and was told by a couple people that had already checked on them that summit doesn't make the right backspacing to mount on a 4th gen, but jegs makes one also that will mount on the front only w/o a spacer or grinding. They match the prostars pretty good so use the welds on the back still.

The Summits aren't light enough to matter. Dang. No other options in this whole world, out of all the F-body cars out there?

You could use skinny's in the front and Salad shooters on the rear. They are the lightest wheel to come on a fbody, form what i've heard. There are many 16" tires out there. MT makes a 255/55-16 ET Street that sticks like glue

The fronts are where you'll see the most gain anyway. Some stock 16s with ET Streets would probably be all you'll need.

You will have to grind the shot out of your calipers in the rear to get a pro star to fit and run a spacer in front.
Get a set of Centerline Convo Pros. They offer a 15x9 with a 6.5" backspace and requires minimal grinding.

Bogarts can be found used at a decent price.

15x4. They stick out a tad, but bolt right on with no grinding.

I didn't know there was a shortage on them. I am guessing you already tried jeg's and summit.

What backspacing do I use on the 4" Convo Pro?

Yeah, Summit is out estimating another month, and Jegs just sucks and ticks me off. But I'll call them anyway.
