Default will this fit

I was wondering if some 255/40/17 tires would fit on my 17x9.5 torque thrust II's? I have 275's on them right now but my brother has a set of 255's he is going to just give me!!! the tire brand is sumitomo's...

9.5" is the widest rim recommended to fit a 255mm tire on, so it'll probably look a little stretched. Also know that a 255/40/17 is over a half inch shorter than stock tire diameter, your ABS *might* be affected if the rear tires are 275/40's (dunno if that's a big enough diff to throw it off but I doubt it).

I've had 245s on 17x9.5s before and they worked fine. 255s would be ok.

It'll fit but not look right. A buddy did the exact same thing on his WS6 and it looked kinda lame. I would save your $$$ and get some 275's.
