Default Wheels for my Med. Blue 99 Camaro

I think you should all have fun with this as the color of the car and all os somewhat unique.

Long story short, I want to get rid of the wheels the previous owner put on the car a while back. They are 19's that are 8.5in wide. Not my think and too bling, and not performance oriented at all.

Here is where I am at:

-I am 90 percent sure I want a black wheel with a polished lip to it.
-The car has a blacked out top. Dark tint and black sail panel, this related to why I think black wheels with the offset to my bright blue metallic would be sinister.
-Size has to be in 18s. I do not like my 19's but think 17's are too small (for me)
-Width of wheel should be 9.5 inch or so. I'd like to go 275/35/18's all around. I am going for a corner carver generally (as well as DD). That is, I am going to lower my car with Strano springs, koni's, sways, etc. so it has to fit while being lowered in the future. I might go wider in the rear but I do not think it is necessary.

-Budget is a big thing. I am in college. These wheels are the only ones I like that fit the above categories:

http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?ProdId=14739

Let's just keep them under a grand said and done. I think you guys will like this one considering the style/color of the car. I do have a feeling blacked out wheels will be bad ***. The chrome ain't doing it on this thing.

Pics of the car you all get to work with and give me ideas:

Thanks guys! I'd like to see what is out there.

Also, are these made in 18's at least 9 inches wide with correct offset for our cars?

Looks amazing.

No need to cry. Think your SAP'd Camaro looks badass. I'm going through the samething although I am really leaning towards chrome C6's. Here's my photoshopped image of my ride with 16" C6. I plan on goin 18 all around, 9.5 up front and 10.5 in the rear with 275's and 295's.

I like your idea of going with dark wheels to contrast the light paint and black trim. I'm going the opposite, light wheels with dark paint.

Thanks.

Do they make torque thrusts with the black center in 18 inch size? I thought they were only in 17's, but I may be wrong.

Also. I just contacted TomZWheels, and apparently the Rebels in the F body sizes are discontinued! That really irks me as it was finally the one I REALLY liked and wanted to get. Maybe I can find some in stock somewhere else?

Well first off I love that color Z28 .

I was actually going to recommend going with 18 inch TT2's with the black center. But they will probably cost you more then a grand for the rims alone. I'm pretty sure they are still producing 18x9.5 TT2's, however I'm not sure where they are selling them (Do a search?). Also other then the TTM's I was pretty sure you had to get the TT2's custom powder-coated (a extra $400).

Hrmm. I see. It's funny how it is so much easier getting 17's or 19's for these rides but 18's are few and far in between imo.

I'll check into the TQ Thrusts. Do those wheels have the correct bolt patterns? Aka no need for hubcentric rings? I know those AZA's I linked to does. However they look good and are clear coated and are 600 dollars shipped for all 4.

No one has yet to comment on those... any opinions?

Can black chrome be powder coated on wheels? Or is it not a paintable type color?

I was thinking of getting torque thrusts and painting the center black chrome possibly.

Am I getting no responses because of my limitations?

I really like the wheels you linked. I also like the idea of getting a black wheel with the MBM paint. I know what you mean about a budget, I'm in college too working part time. I just bought some tires/wheels and I'll be paying them off for the next year.

Thanks. I am actually considering getting any color/style wheel as I will be powder coating them black chrome. I'm thinking that might help the selection (and possible why there have been no recommendations really.) Torque Thrusts look cool, but the 18 inch size of that style looks iffy. 17's look better but I don't like that size.

The only reason I don't want the AZA wheels is that I have to get hubcentric rings etc etc as the bolt pattern is 120, not 120.65. *Angry Face!*

I actually was going to get the Rebels until I found out they didn't make them anymore... freaking figures...

black chrome is a chroming process, not paint. TT2's can't be done with the centers just in black chrome, because the centers cannot be removed from the hoops in order to chrome them. You can order them polished and have the centers powdercoated gloss black though, that would look good. Do not paint wheels, it will chip easily. Powdercoating is the only right way to go.

On that car, I'd just lower it and put some polished TT2 wheels on it.

Thanks Nine Ball for your information.

I do know that I want to get a dark/black center with a polished lip. I do know I want that with my blacked out top. I also am pretty set on 18's.

I know that black chrome is a dipping process like any chrome, but I know there are "mimicking" techniques that can resemble black chrome in a powder coated style. I do plan on powder coating, not painting.

Let's say I buy chromed wheels, can they be powdercoated? Aka I might buy some rebels if anyone sells them on this forum, etc.

I just saw this thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/848720-sale-c6-black-chrome-rims.html

I dig those wheels and those are the tires I was going to get as well.

If he still has them I might eat them up.

OH man...that's the exact setup I've been looking for only not black chrome. Hope you get them, they would look insanely badass on your ride.

Thanks homie. I plan on it finally.

He has not been on the forum lately. I hope he gets my PM and has not sold them yet.

I just ordered my C6's. After I get the tires and have them mounted I'll post pics. Good luck with your wheels!

You better post pics!!! Nice man. Where did you buy them from?

Also, what sizes did you get (with planned tire size as well) because I am worried about correct offsets, as I hear the rear wheels are traditionally not even close to what we need. But I also hear that some factory reproductions make correct offsets for the wider rear wheels and all.

This info would be awesome man, and I can't wait for pics!
