Default Do i have to roll my finder for 315's

Ok im selling my 17x9.5 to get 17x10.5 c6zo6 wheels, also i am lowering the car, do i have to hammer, or do i have to get it reshaped so the 315's tires will fit?

what is the offset of the new rear rims? that will be your deciding factor

i was told from a few guys running nitto 315 that they didnt have to do fender rolling or anything. but i think its cuz the nittos are the smaller 315 out of the rest.

thats what I am running is Nitto 315's and yes they are a bit smaller than other 315's. I have TTM's 17x10.5 with a 44mm offset and my car is slightly lowered, and when I bottom out the rear fender does scrape the side of the tire right where the tread ends to the separating line of the sidewall. That is only when I hit a real dip in the road, other than that it doesn't rub often at all.

If the offset is greater than 44mm, meaning 54mm or 56mm (stock SS rim17x9) then your problem will be the inner fenderwell the smaller the offset # the more the rim will push out and your problem will be the outer fender. I had some motorsport Z06 rims that were 17x9.5 with a 54mm and when I put the Nitto 315's on them I had to beat the hell out of some parts of the inner fender to give more clearance.

The TA's have a slightly wider rear fenders as compared to the camaro's, so you would easily have more outer fender clearance....us camaro guys get kinda screwed when it comes to having to do fender rolling

94trans, is your car lowered? if not, thats why you dont rub.
pozed99, why the hell do you have 315's on a 9.5?! anyway, obviously a 9.5 rim wont sit as far out as an 11 inch wide rim.
now my story, i have 315's with a pro kit. hardly ever rubs the fender lips, until you get people in the back seat and hell breaks loose.

I second that Zach, passengers are unforgiving to the rear suspension and tire rubs....thats why i put air shocks in the rear so I can pump up the rear when anyone is riding in the back(and for the strip). I also have the pro kit on my SS.

Well you don't look lowered, that's why. If your dropped, and running 315's, I'd get you fender lips rolled.

ACTUALLY...I forgot...I used a SMALL pair of VISE-GRIPS and kinda bent it /the lip/...in a little first..then I got my small..ballpeen hammer/regular small hammer and just tapped/tapped/tapped....just do it slow/sensibly...it is easy..as I said..it is just sheet-metal.......alot of people will say..put tape above so as not to crack paint....I don't know if this is a good idea or not..mine sits inside..paint is better than 1 which sits out...wouldn't hurt if your car is an outer.
