Default Wheel and Tire Storage
I now have a second set of wheels and tires that I keep in tire totes.

Is it ok to store them in the attic or should I try to store them in an area that won't be so hot?

It's the cold you want to watch. Keep them sealed up somewhere and they should be fine. I keep mine in contractor garbage bags.

Large plastic garbage bag and store in basement away from furnace and/or light, works for me every winter.
