The softest street tire is going to be a DR. Nitto's are the only one that gives a decent amount wear on the street.

How do you figure a DR is going to be the softest? There are some pretty soft DOT road course tires out there as well. Like, what about the Toyo R1?

Well, my guess would be in the traction and treadwear ratings on the tire and possibly to compound if available.
Are you asking about a regular daily tire other than a drag radial?

he said street tire. not race tire. kuhmo v710s have a treadwear of 30. you can NOT drive them on the street. their victoracer has a wear of either 90 or 100. they can be used on the street, but wont last long at all. nitto nt01 is probably the closest thing to an r-compound you can use on the street.

i would basically call a nitto drag radial a street tire as well. Only saying that because i believe the Nitto drag radial comes with 6/32nds to 7/32nds of life, which is close to what regular tires come with and they last waaaaaay longer than any other drag radial. And i drove with them in the rain with no problem.... cant really do that with a m/t drag radial.
