Default will 19 inch corvette rims affect my z28's performance?

...My car is a 99 A4 z28...

...I found a set of stock corvette rims and tires off of a C6 corvette for sale. I believe the tires are 285/35/19 on all four, but maybe 275's on the front (not 100% sure). My question is... will putting those rims and tires on the camaro affect the performance since the rims are so big? The tires on the car now are the stock 245/50/16's. Also, will putting the bigger wheels on there mess up the speedo really badly? I am mostly concerned with it messing up the performance though...
Also, if it does affect performance is there a way to program the computer or something to fix this problem? any info. is much appreciated.

when I put on my 19's they were the same outer diameter as the stock wheels and tires with 35 series tires. and they weighed 2 pounds less than the stocks Ive seen nothing but better traction and cornering with them.

Thanks Eric, so as long as the 19 inch rim and super thin tires is the same diameter as my 16 inch rims and thicker tires the performance will not be affected? that makes perfect sense to me. I just want to be sure before I fork up the dough for these rims/tires.

If you keep the overall diameter the same, it won't throw off your speedometer. However, if the wheels weigh more than the wheels/tires you have now, yes, you will lose horsepower. The increased rotational mass will cause the engine to have to work harder. In Eric's case, his aftermarket wheels are lighter because they're better material and likely two or three piece, as opposed to cast aluminum, which is what the stock Corvette wheels will be.

As an example, I dyno'd 333rwhp on my stock 16" wheels with 245/50/16 tires. A few months later, I went back to the same shop and dyno'd 320rwhp on 17x11" ZR1's with 315/35/17 tires. I changed nothing else on the car. I'll give a few hp here and there for atmospheric conditions and whatnot, but not 13.

From a handling perspective, a lot of it depends on the tires' sidewall stiffness, but as a general rule, the shorter/stiffer the sidewall, the rougher the ride quality will be.
You'll also notice the car trammels, or is more likely to follow the crown of the road. This means it will try to pull one way or the other more readily with lower profile tires, and is something you'll just need to be aware of.

All that said, aftermarket wheels are worth it, IMO. I wouldn't go back to stock wheels if you paid me.

well based on the information I just found off of a corvette forum the stock C6 wheels and 245/40/18's(front) 285/35/19's (rear) and tires are approximately
Front 18" = 49lbs
Rear 19" = 55lbs

does anyone know the weight of the stock 16 inch 5 spoke z28 wheels w/245/50/16's

Also the guy says he will not go under $1,200 for the rims and tires. is that a good deal? if not, what do you guys think would be a fair price?

just to refresh your memory. They are stock five-spoke corvette rims off of a C6 corvette. Front = 245/40/18, rear=285/35/19. The tires have about 8,000 miles on them. thanks.
