Default 27 Inch Tall Tire....Is it hurt track times?

My last trip to the track was rather disappointing. It went a 7.71 at 92mph with a 1.9x 60 with no tire spin. This was my first time on my drag wheels, with 27x11's ET Streets. I did not think that the 27" diameter would hurt, but I have had numerous people say that was the problem.

My last trip to the track I was cam only and went 7.82 @ 94mph w/ 1.82 60 on nitto 555r's.

Anyhow, I just want some opinions oh what you guys think. It is a little discouraging after putting heads on, changing the cam, and being on good tires.

If everything points to the tires, I am going to buy some 26's and see what happens.

It is a six speed with the stock 3.46 gear

A gear would make a big difference.

Yes sirrrr...I'm running 4.11's on a 28'' slick and am fixing to go to a 4.30.

What rpm are you launching at? I hope no lower than 6k...I dump mine at 7k and it dead hooks, then bogs for a sec and picks right back up....I cut a 1.5 60'....

like was said, you'll most likely benefit with more gear now that you kicked the powerband higher up & then went to a taller tire.

Needs gear, 3.42 isn't even enough gear with a stock motor with 26's.
