Default nitto 555 street tire

The nitto 555 are basically double the price of Sumitomo HTRZs(for my tire sizes). Are they really worth paying twice as much? i know the sumi's suck but the only diff. is they are 160 treadwear rating vs. 300 for the nittos. should I pay double for double the treadwear rating?

All I know is I've been really happy with my Nitto 555 drag radials. I drive daily with them on with no problems.

IMO they are double the price cause they are double the tread life , its really up too what your budget is but ive had my 555 for about a year and have had no problems work real nice in dry/wet weather.

Traction is good. Sometimes early in the AM when the road and your tires are both cool, they might slip a little bit around corners, but it stops after driving about a block or so. Normally, though, I can't even do a dry burnout with these tires on my almost stock WS6. They just squeal and go. They've never spun at the track on me, either. Always a good launch.

Wait, do you have the 555s or the 555r?

I've got 555s and they work well for me too! the tread wear is great for the performance. they work great in the rain. I drive a full bolt on 6spd ss and I dd it. I rarely spin in the rain. of course in the rain I could spin them if I wanted to, but they keep great traction and I have yet to feel them hydroplane. I've got up to 90 in the rain on a straight away and felt nothing as far as skidding on top of the water. (i don't make that a habit)lmao I like to test my ****, so. Its nice to build your convidence in your equipment. they hook great, work great in the rain, definitely worth the money!

I had a set of Sumitomo HTRZ recently. Tread looked nice, but they rode harsh and were loud on the highway. The Nitto 555 tires are much better, and have better traction. I'd classify the HTRZ as a good looking cheap tire, that doesn't perform well.

i have the 555's on the front and the 555r's for the rear. I think they are ok but the stock f1's that came with the car were better so ill be looking for something else this time around. I will still probably get the 555r for the rear though.

i love my 555r's in rear and 555 in front. awsome tire, 6k miles on them now and still almost 100% tread with some spirited driving no traction issues full bolt on m6 ws6, i really have to try hard to break them loose unless they are cold
