Default Weld cap or (sticker) on Summit ProStar wheel questions?

I am buying some Summit Prostar wheels and want to make the center cap as close to a Weld as possible. Need to know the size of...
  • 1 What is the diameter of a true Weld center cap? And has anyone tried running a Weld cap on the Summit wheel?
  • 2 What is the size of the indention on the end of a Summit cap and is the indention flat so a sticker would stick to it? This is the option I like best as there are Weld stickers you can buy that I could just slap right on the Summit cap if it will fit right!!

If you get on summits website and look up the replacement centercap for their star style wheel youre talkin it will have the diameter listed. I think it's like 3.25 maybe? Then do the same for a weld prostar cap, I think its like 3.1x or something. I think it would fit...I looked it up using their category search features on their website when I had them but never got around to ordering any.

I don't know. Just seems wrong. It's like putting Z28 badges on a regular Camaro. You're basically lying to people, telling them you have something you don't.

If you're ashamed to own the wheels, don't buy them. Welds aren't that expensive anyway. I've read all the arguments, and I don't really care either way.

I guess everyone has their opinions...It doesnt seem wrong in any way to me, just a way of taking something existing and making it look better. Kinda like when people do CETA mods on Trans Ams, and stuff like that, when its not a CETA car.

the clone tips dont have Corsa written on them. you are talking about putting a corsa sticker on pep boys wheels. if you wanted weld wheels so bad, buy em!

Thanks, that the info I needed. The center hole is .1xx different, so yea I think they will work. Picking up wheels tomorrow, after i get them picked up I will probably order the caps.

I also found out via Summit, that the end of the caps accept a different sticker so I don't think the Weld sticker will fit in the Summit cap.

Are you serious? Who ******* cares its a god damn centercap. You people are making it out to be a huge deal. Its no different than doing the flat black CETA mod on a regular trans am, that 99% of Trans Ams have done. Or a black Berger panel on a camaro. Not that big of a deal, you guys need to relax.

Word.

or a ss hood on a z, or a ss spoiler, or a gmmg badge, or zo6 wheels, or or or the list goes on...who cares! Its his car man, I doubt hes trying to please anyone. Those caps will look a hell of a lot better than the summit ones do. Having those summit wheels I know how long and goofy those caps stick out.

I know for a fact the Jegs center caps will not fit in welds. I tried them in my pro stars but they were too big

I just bought a set of rear pro stars and the fronts are summit stars. I just put the weld center cap in the front wheels and nothing in the back. I'm not trying to make it look like I have something I dont but no chance in hell are those summit center caps goin on my car. They look pretty horrible and besides I like the look of no center caps in the back

Ok here they are. Sorry it took so long. 15x4 summit stars with weld center cap. It is loose until you torque it down then the beveled edges of the wheel center it and make it tight once its against the hub
