Default 26psi recommended tire pressure???

i've got falken rt-615 tires and decided to go to the falken tires website for specs on the tire...
according to their pro-fit application system, they recommend 26psi in front and rear tires. does this seem low to anyone else?

http://ftcdev.innovapp.com/plusSize2...b=B&stdoropt=S

tire is 275/40R17 98W
max inflation is 51psi
it is not a reinforced tire (other sizes are)

the tire is pretty stiff and you can feel every pebble on the road at 30+ psi.

does this seem right?

Strange...
The car was designed around 35psi.
I run 35 up front and 30 rear (for even rear tire wear)

i haven't taken them to the track yet, but they give serious grip on corners.
i have a stock converter, so my 60 times would probably be useless to you.

got a response from falken tire quality assurance:
Thank you for your inquiry. The load rating of your original tires was 93 (30 PSI). The Load rating on the RT-615 in the same size (275-40-17) is 98, which means since the RT-615 has a higher load carrying capacity, the PSI should be lower. Meaning you don’t need a higher PSI to support the same load as your previous tires. I would recommend 26 PSI but you can inflate them up to 30 PSI and still be okay. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,

the rest of it goes like:

For every day normal driving it is fine, but like I said you can run up to a 30PSI. If you have an aggressive driving style you are better of using 30 PSI. Have you tried them at 26 PSI, does the ride feel too soft? We base our PSI recommendations by converting the manufactures recommendations to fit out load ratings. Sometimes, car manufactures calculate the PSI a little low in order to provide a nice, comfortable ride to consumers. Please let me know if you need further assistance. J
