Default C5 tire problems?

I have C5 rims that are 18X9.5 in the front. I had some Kumo ESta SPT's on them that were 275/35r/18 in the front. I had to end up taking them off because they would rub soo badly. Can i put on a smaller size tires on these rims so they wont rub?

The problem is not the tire . . . if they are OEM C5 wheels it is the offset. IIRC the offset is 65 mm. You need a 1/4" spacer to run those.

Is putting in a spacer going to hurt anything with my suspension or anything else?

Shouldn't. 1/4" is the smallest spacer to run with stock wheel studs.

In all honesty your could go with a thicker spacer, but new studs would be needed.

Rubbing where? . . . I assumed the tire was rubbing the upper section of the spindle / a-arm . . . .

If you are talking about here:

Who cares . . . .

No its not rubbing there. Its rubbing on the inner part of the tire. It doesnt rub until i am driving and take a turn decently hard. I think it might be rubbing agains the upper contrl arm.
