Default New wheels and tires. Just need confirmation

Ok guys, because of the chrome on my current wheels peeling (and therefore my tire not sealing) i am getting new wheels and tires. Car is a '99 Z28.

needless to say i'm not sticking with the stock style 16" rims. i do believe i'm going to go with the replica c6 zo6 wheels in an 18x9.5.

Wheels: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-Bl...1417QQtcZphoto

If someone could check those out for me, just to be safe. (YES, i've looked at the Wheels & Tires: Everything you should need to know... post). I'm just paranoid about ordering something that won't fit, ok???

As for tires, how wide of a tire can i run up front? If i'm reading the sticky correctly, i can run anywhere up to a 285 up front. Is that right? that seems rather wide for up front.
Here's what i'm thinking though... 285/35/18 Nitto NT555 for the rear. If i can run a 285 up front i might do it just for "ease" of rotation. i have access to a tire machine, so i could change them if i need to. If however i can't fit a 285 up front, what would you guys recommend? 255, 265, 275???
or to throw another loop in it, what about the sidewall height? do i want to run 35's or 40's?
(tires confuse me if you couldn't tell)

depending on if i can find any deals i might be lowering the car. but we'll see.

thanks for any help.

Yes they will work...275 or 285 tires... I know people have fit wider tires up front, but not sure on what was needed..

I'd do the 275 front, 285 rear combo...but I understand the concern about rotating. 275s all around wont look bad! 275/35 or 285/35 would be the right size.

what about the sidewall heights on those tires... should i run 35's or 40's or would i notice a difference between the two? would one screw up my speedometer more than another? does one give more of a "cushion" than the other?

I'd run 275/35ZR18 on all for corners . . . This sized tire has the IDENTICAL overall diameter of the stock tires, and therefore the speedo and the ABS would not be affected.

like i said before, i'm dumb when it comes to tires, but wouldn't a 285/35/18 be the same too? i thought it was just a wider tire. the diameter shouldn't change should it? it's still the same sidewall height/aspect ratio and everything. please educate me.

The diameter will change slightly. 35 isn't a literal measurement on a scale, it is a percentage. It is 35% of the entire tire, so the sidewall is 35% of the 285mm the tire is across, which would be meaning it has a 99.75mm tall sidewall, where a 275/35/ would have a 96.25mm tall sidewall.

This is the tire size calculator I use....

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

Specification--Sidewall--Radius--Diameter--Circumference
275/35-18----3.8in----12.8in---25.6in-----80.4in
285/35-18----3.9in----12.9in---25.9in-----81.2in
