Default BFG G-Force T/A KD's

How would the above tires do as fronts? I've usually just seen them on the rear and can't really say I;ve seen people with them on the front. I've currently got a set of Nitto drag radials on the rear and once those wear out I will be changing to the M/T drag radial's.

Never tried KDs - friend had them on (older gentlemen - NEVER gets on his rides, he had them on his 97 TA) and they wore extremely fast. I've been running KDW's for about a year and a half and love them. If you've already got them, they should be fine. For all-weather driving, I REALLY liked my Pirelli P-Zero MS tires though. Not TOO expensive and did amazingly all around, in the front.

I've got KD's all the way around. My experience has been that they handle extremely well when it's dry but they're bad to hydroplane when it's wet.

My car never sees rain and is not a daily driver (only 13k on the clock) so water and wear shouldn't be an issue.

I have them on all 4 corners of my hawk. second set, I love them. I rarely drive the car and not in the rain. Supposedly, they are among the best for dry traction and handling.

I'm pretty sure that NineBall has them on his Firehawk.

Had them on my 04 GTO. They were fine, handled great. Would be cautious in the wet.

theyre about the best tire you can get as far as dry handling and not be an r-compound. the KD meand Key Dry.....so obviously stay out of the rain. the KDW means Key Dry/Wet....so theyre more rain friendly. however i heard 2-3 months ago that they stopped making the KDs?

my buddy has them on his 99 Roush, they wore super fast and suck in the rain. I had the kdw's in the past and loved them, another friend of mine has the kdw's on his 01 SS which recently went on a 10k mile trip around the country without any issues

they are good for grip but very soft (treadwear at like 120) if you don't rotate them they will sing like hell...so every once in a while put em on the back and do a burnout..lolol thats what i always used to do when i had those on the front i also have nitto drags in the rear... i went to the kdw in the front cause it's a little harder but still handles well and doesn't get wear patterns in them as fast as the kd.

Correct. The KDs and KDWs have been discontinued. You might be able to find someone with some still in stock. I just got a set off ebay actually. Quite cheap too.

Excuse me. The KDs and the original design KDWs have been discontinued. They still make that new design KDW, which some places refer to as the KDW 2.

michelin maybe. but i think pirelli is all hype. from all the autoxing i do, i never see anyone on pirellis. some michs, but thats because their particular car came stock with them. if they ever do upgrade, 9 times out of 10 its not mich or pirellis. from what ive heard, the pilot sports are good, but ware very fast, and ive heard bad things about the tread seperating on michs. ANY michs.

I just put KD’s (all around) on my SS two days ago. I finally drove the car today (nice weather) and it handled very well. When I purchased the car two years ago it had KDWS on the rear and very old KD’s on the front. The car cornered really well with that setup. I have yet to test these new tires on a hard corner, but so far I’m really happy with them.

You can still find KD’s out there, you just have to look. I bought mine about 3-4 months ago and I was able to find them on Tirerack’s website. You’ll probably have to look at a lot of online sites, but I think there out there. Good luck with your purchase.

Here are a few photos I took today of my SS.

I have KDs all the way around on my car. 275 fronts and 315 rears. They are a great tire. All of you guys saying stay out of the rain in them must drive stupid when it is wet because I have never gotten even a little out of control with these tires and I drive this thing rain or shine. I am so pissed they have cancelled these.

ohh ok good to know, but i think these tyres are made more for high speed race tracks/actual race circuits, with long high speed sweepers, super hard braking areas, high speed directional changes etc etc, maybe kds are better when it comes to autocross, but i see lots of high end lambos, ferraris, porschaes, etc with pirellis or michelins, and these cars are tested on real racetracks not autox so i guess its like comparing apples to oranges
