Default New Rims, and one question

I just worked out a deal for a set of black out, crome rimmed Corvette C5-Z06 Rims. They look slick as hell and are exactly what I've been looking for. The front two are 17" so my front tires will fit. The back are 18" so I'm going to need new tires. Fronts are 275/40/17. What size will the 18's be?? I Was planning on keeping my Nitto 555 dr's on the old rear rims, and swapping them out when I race. I want a good all around street tire for my 18's. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

I think these are 10.5s out back. Go with either 295s or 315s. 305s are not much bigger than 295s and are a bit more money.

How much of a difference in traction will i see going from a 275/40/17 vs either 295/35/18 or 315/35/18. All I could find in the 315 were some slicks. Do they make a street tire in that size?

Go with 295/35/18's. Yes, wide tires look better, but they're not worth the hassles of fitment. I've run 315/35/17s and now I run 295/35/18's, and I'm much happier.

Im running KDW2, 295-25-18s out back. i think its a perfect size. minimal rubbing which can be fixed with some very slight hammering of the wheel well and they look nice and wide. BFG tires are a great value IMO. Depending on how you drive your car youre usually going to get rubbing in the rear. Ive heard of the stock 17", 275s rubbing. F-bodies weren't exactly designed to be able to fit a very big tire in the back (kinda wierd). I've seen guys put 315s up front with no more than a small spacer.
