Default NT555R's or MT drag radials?

Just wanted to know what people thought about both kinds. The reason I am asking is b/c I am running 275/40/17's on 17x11's. I found a kick *** deal on the NT555R's for $318 shipped to my door. On the other hand I would be spending around $410 to $450 on MT's shipped. I know I heard that MT's is the best you can get but what do you guys say about the NT555R's? Any luck with them at all? Is it worth spending an extra $100+ for some MT's? Just asking. Thanks!

Considering the mods in your sig, you will be ok on nittos. They won't dead hook on the street like MTs could at your HP level, but they'll come close. Nittos usually start to not work so well from a stop/low roll on the street around 400rwhp. Save the dough and get a longer lasting tire that will serve your purpose with the nitto.

since you have 17x11 on the back you could always run a 315 nitto to get more traction instead of the 275's.

275 is pretty narrow for an 11" wide wheel. Nitto's would prolly work for you. And they will prolly last twice as long as a m/t. but either choice i would go much wider than a 275.

Nittos should be ok, MT's would make it so you couldn't lose traction if you tried!

Yea, I say go with the 315 nitto's that should get set pretty good. If you got a bead on those 275 nitto's give me a holla!!!

Well, the deal I found the NT555R's for is only on the 275/40/17's. I dont know how much the other sizes would be. Dont think I will run into any rubbing with a different size on my 17x11's? Just wandering. The MT's for that size from Speed Inc will run me around $380 with free shipping. Oh, by the way these tires is not for car in my sig pic. I have a '99 Bright Blue Metallic z28 w/ LT's, ORY, Hooker catback, 3600 Edge converter, and Motive 3.73's. The car also has a HP tune on it. Just wanting to know do I spend the extra money for the MT's or go with the NT555R's? Thanks!

depends, with the proper set up the nittos will hook. but if your not concerned about the price or the life of the tire, then go MTs

i have had booth depending of what type of driving you do, spend the money $$$ for the mt's, dead hook all the time especially with your stall but not as long lasting as the 555r's! I have seen nitto drags last 20k miles with spirited driving in my case i got 17k with tons of street and track action..... hope that helps.
