how much should I spend for new tires??
how much for a set of 4 new tires? I wanna get some decent ones meant for an f-bod. What size should I get? What brand? I dont see snow. I'm curently sitting on delta esteem xle 245-50-16 (98h) on stock '98 t/a abs rims. The current tires have half of it's life left. How much do u think I can sell my tires for? I'd really hate to replace em so early, but I'm sick of feeling like I'm gonna slide of the freeway at racing speeds. thanks guys

I just recently bought the Goodyear GS-D3 tires for my '01 T/A (stock 16" rims). Can't say enough about them. Just incredible and better than the GSC's that were original equipment. Goodyear has a $50 rebate going right now too which helps a bit. You can download the form at their web site. The GS-D3's are NOT cheap but you said you wanted a decent tire. I paid over $700 for the set which included the taxes, balancing, etc.. You get what you pay for. You can spend $400 for a cheap set but is the $300 difference really worth the cheap set?? Not very satisfying with either poor ride characteristics or problems at mid-tread like tramlining. There is a reason why quality tires cost more. You will be extremely pleased. Just don't over-inflate them. Use the psi stated on the door panel of our cars. Mine states 30 psi. Goodyear verifies this on their site as well. The last thing you want to do is prematurely wear out expensive tires.

The price you pay all depends on how deep your pockets are. Personally when I was rocking the 16's with bone stock motor, I just had some Kumho's that I paid $260-$300 for. Now though, I'm rockin' the BFG KDW's and LOVE the hell out of 'em, mostly the looks but don't be expecting Kumho prices.

Yes go bigger. I have the 16x8 snowflake rims on my Z28 and that is not enough tire expecially in the back. I would say go 17x9 up front and atleast 17x10 or 10.5 in the rear. You wont regret it. Goodyear GS-D3's are just incredable, wet and dry traction is great.

if you want to save some money and still get a really good tire, look no further than the Cooper Zeon 2XS tires.....i had those on my car before my current set of GS-D3's, and they were every bit as good for normal street driving. they hold the road really well, wet & dry traction are both great, and the wear is really good on them, so they'll last you a while.
i don't drag race, so i don't know how well they work on a prepped track, but as with most any street tire (short of drag radials), they will spin on the street.
when my GS-D3's need to be replaced, i will go back to the 2XS's and save about 65% of the amount of money i spent for these tires.
