2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Gratuitious Exhaust Porn
Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Rolex 24 endurance race at Daytona International Speedway where I witnessed the Corvette C7R take both first and second place in the GTLM class. Additionally, I had the chance to spend that weekend in a brand new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS with the manual transmission. There is a full review on the way, but in the meantime I thought I’d share some highlights, including this kickass exhaust video.
First impressions of the 2SS Camaro are pretty solid. It has the same engine as the Corvette Stingray, making 455 horsepower. The active exhaust supposedly doesn’t add more power in this application, but I wouldn’t be surprised that it doesn’t make the same power as the Corvette with the Z51 and performance exhaust.
The 6-speed manual transmission is the smoothest I’ve driven in a Camaro, and it’s easy to find the right gear. I wish they’d get ride of the “Skip Shift” function, but people have been complaining about it for years and they still include it. I just wish it was disabled in Sport and Track settings, where you really don’t want it.
The new Camaro is a night and day difference than the previous generation, and I can’t wait to share more with you about it here in the coming days. Until then, enjoy the video and let us know what you think over in our forums!
