Amazing 3rd Gen Camaro Will Make You Want to Go into Debt

1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

One of just 62 1LE-equipped 1990 Camaro IROC-Zs, this 39k-mile gem might just be worth breaking the bank for.

We all try hard to practice financial common sense. Everybody knows that debt is inherently bad, and that you should strive to pay cash for most purchases. But that’s much easier said than done when you’re a car enthusiast. We’re constantly surrounded by temptations, whether they be ultra-clean cars or aftermarket upgrades. And if you’re trying to stick to a budget this new year, you probably don’t want to look at this gorgeous 3rd gen Camaro that we found over at Fusion Luxury Motors.

This absolutely amazing IROC-Z looks like brand new, and for good reason. With only 39k original miles, it’s barely been used over the last nearly three decades. But this car’s specialness doesn’t stop there. Chevy offered a host of upgrade options for the IROC-Z Camaro over the years, and this 1990 example has some intriguing ones.

This particular car was ordered with the G92 Performance Axle option with air conditioner delete. Thus, it was also automatically equipped with RPO 1LE, which blessed it with a host of tasty go-fast options. They include big 11.65-inch rotors, PBR 2-piston aluminum calipers, an aluminum driveshaft, baffled fuel tank, upgraded shocks, stiffer bushings, and fog lamp delete.

As you might imagine, not a lot of folks opted for the 1LE package, mainly due to the lack of air conditioning that it required. Thus, Chevy built only 111 such cars in 1989 and just 62 in 1990. And we’d wager that this particular Camaro is the nicest one left in this world. But if you want it, you’re going to have to pony up nearly $40k for the privilege.

That’s a ton of dough for a 3rd gen Camaro, obviously. But look at it this way – you’re buying what should be an appreciating asset. Maybe that way, at least, you can convince yourself (and your significant other) that it’s a wise investment worth going into debt for!
